Eclipse Cycling Club

Thornden Eclipse is a parent run cycling club, we have 17 fantastic mountain bikes and also provide helmets, so all your child needs to do is register and turn up to weekly sessions. We take complete beginners to the more experienced cyclists and sessions run from the summer term through to October half term costing just £40 a year. The sessions are either on a Monday or Wednesday evening from 6pm to 7.30pm. Most of these are on the school field so we meet at school, but sometimes we will organise sessions at Knightwood BMX track or the mountain bike track at the sports centre in Southampton.

We are a parent run club and as such rely on parent helpers to support the qualified coaches at each session. We are also always looking to train up new coaches, so if you are interested in supporting the club in any way, please complete the parental section below or just drop me a line for more information.

We currently have a few spaces for new members see the video below of what we get up to in training sessions, offsite rides and Inter School Races.

We also are supported by British cycling who help run the inter school events and organise trips to the velodrome at Calshot. All of our coaches are first aid trained, fully qualified and CRB checked. We also have our own 20 bike specialised trailer so when we do offsite rides we generally take the minibus and the trailer.

The sessions involve all bike skills, fitness and stamina training and on rainy days bike maintenance.

If you or your child have any questions or are interested in joining please either complete the form below or contact me Rachel Bailey on 07787056115 or
